Rain eased off so loaded up the trailer ready for the tip. Mostly brambles and Buddleia but all too wet for burning.

Sorry sweetpea just noticed your post, well to be honest I haven't got round yet to moving anything into the greenhouse yet. I have a few Dahlia bulbs that I'm starting off the rest I took a chance this year and left in the ground.....must admit to feeling a tad nervous now as to whether they survived. I have lots of various cuttings in there that are looking good. The house is now overrun with seed trays so I really must start moving things out to the greenhouse. Yesterday I sowed some more Zinnias and just in case my Dahlias haven't survived I've also sowed more too. Oh ...did you mean what did I sow in my Dad's wildlife area???..... I bought two big boxes of pre mixed seeds so not really too sure of the contents but I also sprinkled lots of various poppy and cornflower seeds too that I had in my 'store'.

I've put plenty of food out for them Eli to keep them going, I may have to order some more online in case the garden centres etc. start closing or running out or we have to self-isolate. I got my propagator out yesterday & sowed 4 varieties of tomatoes 'Red Cherry', 'Yellow Delight', 'Amateur' & 'Ailsa Craig', courgette Zucchini, pepper 'Anaheim' & cucumber 'Marketmore'. being optimistic at least we shouldn't go hungry in the summer if there are shortages!

The weather was O.K. here so I carried on weeding & cutting back at the end of the garden & around the pond. Still lots of frogspawn in the pond & I found a couple of hedgehog poops on the lawn so put the camera out last night & we have at least 2 hedgehogs visiting who looked quite small & hungry, they pottered around the garden throughout the night from about 11pm to 5.45am. brilliant picture Sue . I haven't got round to putting my camera out yet . I`d like to see if my hedgehog comes back now and then, as he has been sighted in several gardens around here.

ladybird , your hedgehog probably does visit during the night , they wander over a mile or more at night looking for food & mates. Spotted one of ours last night just before I went to bed, it was standing on the food tray, it was the larger one of the 2 caught on camera in the pics., I haven't put the camera out since as mine doesn't work as well in the rain or extreme cold - I might try the video setting on it though to see if I can catch them together again. Didn't do anything in the garden yesterday other than feeding the birds/hedgehogs & I've just ordered some more food for them all online just in case we can't get any from the shops.

I managed to summon the energy to go up to the greenhouse, my tree fern is still alive so have given it a drink, along with a couple of fuchsias and a canna which is sprouting. the pots on the patio got a drink too. Brought in some pots to pot up a couple of patio standard roses; a couple of quince and another plant I can't remember the name of. Hopefully they will get seen to over the weekend. Enjoyed the fresh air...it helped my breathing , have been a bit anxious of late....but I'll bounce back..

I had some wood delivered yesterday to make new raised beds. I had to restrict my budget so only had enough to do 3 beds with the 2"x6" plus some fencing planks. I haven't done any heavy garden Diy for several years and this wood is wet and heavy so I hope I can manage.

mostly plug plants and bare root plants, although some are from seed I grew last year, the hardy ones that are big enough are being stood outside now to make way for bedding plugs I have on order did more clearing of the fence borders, everything is such a mess and I've lost quite a few plants, good job I've got plenty to fill the gaps

Good luck with the raised beds ladybird, I had someone to do them for me last year - I'm hopeless with wood work.

This morning I gave the compost bin a mix, and then dug the vegetable garden again.

Did a little watering in the greenhouse. All seedling are doing well even though I accidently had the heat off on the heated table for the last two days and the GH temp went below zero I think the sand must have kept some heat in from the sunny days . I stuck a few tulips a few, already overcrowded, pots , better there that sitting in a packet in my front hall. Just the rest of the tulips and the daffs, dahlias , garlic, begonias, red and white onions to find a place for soon.
