I took the rest of my Fuchsias down to the polytunnel, and I did some cutting back of Clematises and shrubs. It was quite warm in the sun

I cut couple of dozen daffodils from the garden & took them to the cemetery (my mum died when I was 25). Had to water all the hanging baskets & some of the pots as we haven't had torrential rain for a few days I thought about mowing the lawn as it has dried out quite a lot but everyone else in the street was doing theirs & I thought I'd save it for this week, may do it today & aerate it as well, the grass isn't very long as I cut it fairly late on in the winter & it's bare in places but it needs tidying up a bit.

That was hard on you SueA. I hope she saw your wedding. I was 31 when my Mum died and had come to the UK for the second time so I was not there with her. I had a great time yesterday pinning back a rambling rose, and putting in stakes for delphiniums at my son’s house. The garden has been neglected for more than 2 years, so there were fritillaries flowering in the grass and an astonishing amount of real violets flowering. There is a wisteria which Natasha’s mother pruned, and an enormous magnolia - all very English to go with the old cottage with exposed beams and floors which are uneven.

I had a busy day in the garden yesterday. Pruned the roses, raked and cut the lawn, and then dug the garden again. Looking forward to the clocks changing at the weekend, so I can unwind in the garden after work.

I mowed the lawn, there wasn't much to cut off especially as I left the edges where the crocuses planted in it are still dying back but it does look a lot tidier now. Might get around to aerating it today.

I watered my Fuchsias and succulents for the first time since October … I usually do it sooner than this but it's been an odd year so far
I also tidied my raised bed ready for sowing some seeds. The area around it needs tidying now. The post across the top of a perspex shelter by my shed had become very bowed and it was difficult to get in there, so I propped it up with some lengths of wood. Inside it needs tidying now too so there's a lot to do.
