Mainly just watering, dead heading and harvesting plums and tomatoes. Stood a few pots in a bucket of water for a good soaking. I could do with trying that as well!!

Do you have a photo SueA No! I did feel a bit daft though as the next door neighbour was out topless in just his shorts! All I did yesterday was water everything & feed the wildlife.

I was finally able to get rid of the old Tamarisk stump. I dug all around it and then sliced through the roots with a long handled branch lopper, then I was able (with a big HEAVE !) to pull it up. Then I took the leaf vac to 'hoover' the paths and under some shrubs (after Bella decided she'd had enough of sleeping in one of the borders and moved away) Then I swept the patio and 'hoovered' it too.

Too hot & too many insects out for me yesterday so I stayed in & baked scones instead! Went out later & watered everything & fed the wildlife. 2 noisy hedgehogs making baby hedgehogs in the bushes near the patio doors again last night!

Thanks jellibeans, I just did it slowly when a cloud came overhead. It took ages that way but I got it done eventually
Today I just swept a bit of the path.

I've decided that I'm giving up gardening- it's too dangerous! As my swollen ankles have gone down a lot & I can walk again I thought I'd try mowing the lawn which hasn't been done for weeks, went out covered up in shirt, long pants, socks, boots etc., mowed half the lawn, emptied the grass box, moved the extension cable reel down the lawn, stubbed my toe on it, tripped up, grabbed the bird feeding pole, got showered with water from the bird water dish on it & landed in a heap! I now have a red throbbing big toe with a navy blue nail on it to go with the huge blister scar on that foot, I did finish the lawn though.

I only watered the tomatoes and some small Fuchsia cuttings early this morning. It was too hot to be outside.

goodness SueA you really are in the wars it did make for an amusing picture, although I'm sure it wasn't to you I started out doing some weeding and deadheading but it got too hot, put a trough of water out near the feeder for the birds and spent the rest of the day looking at the work
