That's beautiful sue i wish i had as many flowers as you, lots of them have gone over due to the heat this year it was lovely first of all, what cucumber seeds did you sow Your garden looks lovely well done you Thanks lesley, I sowed Carmen & mini Baby cucumbers & the 'Baby' have been the best with lots of lovely cucumbers about 6in long. The Carmen are O.K. but seem to go soft very quickly. The tomatoes have been very slow though & I've only had a few ripen so far & not that many developing yet although the plants look healthy. The white flower is Lysimachia Elisabeth, grows like wildfire (& quite tall 4-5ft) around the pond so I assume it likes damp conditions.

I'll third that on the tomato front just fed the birds and grandaughter helped water plants in the greenhouse while her brothers watered the plants in the garden with their squirters (the safest way to use them )

She'd have been hard pushed to find any tomatoes to pick here grindle - I found one ripe one yesterday & a mini cucumber! I can finally get shoes & boots on & walk as my feet & ankles are almost back to normal (only taken about 5 weeks from the first bite! ) & my toenail hasn't fallen off but is just bruised & tender so I managed to get out & do a bit of gardening. It's been too hot recently to do anything other than watering in the greenhouse as well so the tomato plants had gone wild & I had to tie them in, take lots of leaves & side-shoots off & water in there. Also cut down lots of nettles which were growing through the ivy tree in the wild end, I've left a small clump for the butterflies/caterpillars & couldn't get to the roots but it looks a bit better now & cut back & pulled out some of the plants to clear the path leading to the arbour. Too hot then & my mascara was running down my face so I went in!

All I did was water the tomatoes and some 'house plants' that are spending the summer in a perspex shelter at the side of the old garage.
I picked 8 cherry tomatoes but three of them had split and had mould growing on them so they ended up in the recycling food bin. I ate the others
I was also able to take my recent purchases out of the car now the rain has stopped for a while ...
SueA I'm glad you're improving, and could do something in the garden and grindle nice that your gd picked a few tomatoes and cucumber ...

Potted up some Fuchsia and Wallflower cuttings and separated some rooted Strawberry runners from their parents.

I weeded the veg. patch which was quite a mess & the gravel path at the side of it but had to go in as it got too hot again. Watered the baskets & in the greenhouse as well.

I picked some marble-sized tomatoes - very disappointing. I'm not growing them from seeds again. Back to normal next year, buying the plants !

I think I might join you in that Eli, I wasn't able to get hold of seeds early enough this year & sowing the tomatoes late has delayed them a lot. I went out in the drizzle to weed around the back of the pond in the wild area as it had got overgrown over the last few weeks. I even found a helium balloon from someone's 40th birthday under a shrub!

I am surprised helium balloons are not banned. They are frowned upon in this area because wildlife and stock can eat them. My daughter would not have them for a big party on the beach for my granddaughter’s 2nd birthday. That was a big story, but I am not keen on these. Gardening in drizzling rain is not really great fun SueA. I have lots of tomatoes from my 2 plants, but the skins are tough. They are from seeds of an outdoor variety.
