I have not been to Shepton Mallet, but there will be a few dahlia exhibits. There are 102 classes for the experienced grower and 16 classes for the novice, the majority of the best growers in the British Isles show there and Harrogate. Depending on the weather between now and the show, expect to see between 500 - 700 exhibits of dahlias.

this was the dalia hall last year the giant veg hall. This used to be a big show with lots going on outside, it seems though, since Amateur Gardening stopped being a sponsor, it's got much smaller with very few nurseries attending

That's Karma Lagoon Lou, photo does make it a bit more intense than it is but not much. I've done a deal to supply a firm that specialises in the flower designer, event, party management and top florist market, hope it is successful!

Well done Richard thats great news Thank you CB, just catching up with this thread Through the Flower Market my dahlias were featured on Alan Tichmarsh's programme yesterday - well, a bucket of them anyway, - www.itv.com/itvplayer/video/?Filter=270804 - about 5 1/2 minutes in. It is going really well, demand greater than supply and from some prestigious customers through Alagar Limited newcoventgardenmarket.com bit.ly/o8SQPVDahlias really are making a comeback hurrah!

This is a star dahlia, called Midnight Star. I posted this one last year and it was only available in America last year. Now available over here this season, i may be tempted to buy a tuber of it now ;D
