Think I might try Hamilton Lillian again next season. One of the SDs I quite like.

I've been waiting since December when I received this tuber from Holland. Seems a long time ago. I saw this tuber in Swan Island Dahlias catalogue, and then manage to find a dutch grower, who kindly sent me one. Wasn't going to post a picture till it was finally opened, but just couldn't resist it as I think it's the most beautiful of Dahlias(my opinion only folks!). Well worth the wait, and it's exactly the same as the picture in there catalogue. Take a look a my avatar.... Will take more photo's when she's opened fully.

Yer it's best to stop looking for a while, as you'll end up buying much more than you intended, believe me, I KNOW . Really looking forward to Wisley, camera all charged up ready to go. Have a great weekend, everybody showing, hope you all do well, and see you at Wisley.
Good luck all

I really feel for them. Saw the article about the land rover and she supports a lot of British breeders like Ken stock. I wish them well for 2015 and a trouble free year also.

Your pics are good CB but the news re Ayletts is not good. When I was lorry driving I used to order my plants and park outside with a great lowloader or 40ft trailer and go in and collect. It was always a great place to visit when their fields were in bloom.

Nice pictures Tracey, was up there shortly after the landrover vandels, really makes your blood boil . Paul and he's team have done a great job, despite all the knockbacks they've had this year. Will be up there next week to choose my tubers for January. I really enjoy going there and chatting with him about all things dahlias, always very helpful. Just a couple of blooms that are now out and looking nice. Nenekazi Blyton Golden Girl

I like the Blyton. Probably the best all round performer for me this year Tel. Consistent blooms, and really strong stems. The colour has stayed true throughout the flowing period, never fades. Starts to turn brown from the back, so you know when it's finished before all the petals drop and make a mess. Only have one plant this year, but have had a few vases for the wife. Withstood all the heavy rain and wind we've just had. If I get the showing bug tomorrow at Wisley, I think this would be my first flower to show, as it grows well in my soil.

You might recognize this dahlia from the front cover of the of Dahlias for you, by Ted Collins, a National Dahlia Society publication. Hapet Perfect Spartacus Going back to my Woolmans nightmare. This was supposed to be Sir Alf Ramsey, but as you can see, it's Alvas Supereme. Never, never again!!! These photo's were taken after all the rain and wind we just had, so looking a bit poorly, sorry
