Hi. I'm going to overseed my front lawn, can anyone recommend a good brand of grass seed? Welcome to the forum cindy. Depends on what kind of lawn you want a hard wearing or a bowling green. There is different seed mixes for different situations.

Hi Cindy, and welcome ;D
I would opt for something slow growing too, or you will be cutting the grass all the time.

Hi. It doesn't need to be hard wearing as we don't use it. Just looking for a good quality seed that produces a nice green lawn. Thanks

If you are looking for a lawn that is more ornamental, you need a blend of seed without ryegrass in the mix.

I think this is the most appropriate thread to tell you about an incident in my garden - the urn used by the WI got tipped out onto the grass! Obviously, whoever did it didn't think, as the hot water has killed a larg-ish patch of lawn. I've got grass seed - I thought I might rake out the dead grass a bit and sow seed, in the hope that it might germinate there and blend in. It'll look a bit 'odd', but I can't really patch the area. Isn't it a nuisance!
