How do you know that, Tel ? I've looked at his profile and there's no mention I am a member on grows on you, i received a message in my emails from him asking if i was still around, i think it was because the last time i went on that forum was over 12 months ago. I asked him to join our forum, because he exhibits dahlias and there is not that much interest on showing dahlias on the other forum. he mentioned where he is.

Used to load up at Bulmers there. Also many loads from Coates at Watchet, Whiteways at Wimple in Devon and of course Taunton Cider. Not forgetting the other stuff from Whitbread at Tiverton. Happy days ;D

What you can do now Lesley is pinch out the leader which doesn't come to anything anyway. This will encourage side shoots which will grow on to produce the flowers. If you were growing for show then you would restrict the shoots to just one or occasionally two for growing up a cane. For growing natural fashion let them all grow. very often they will produce side shoots without stopping but you can speed up the process by pinching out. Whichever way you grow them on they will require support of some kind.
