Is it just the bark that's sticky? I think some orchids do exude a bit of sticky residue from under their leaves, so it might be that, not bugs? It can be wiped off. My husband is a bit of a would be orchid boffin and I don't think he repots plants unless they're bursting at the seams or really mouldy. You could maybe just replace the top layer of bark, if the bark is still sticky? Flowering for a year is pretty impressive!

Oh Joysie, you shouldn't use fairy liquid on your plants, it has a lot of salt in it, your plants won't like that much!

Depends on the type of orchid, but if it's a Phalaenopsis, you cut the stems off about a handspan above the top of the pot, just above the second notch up on the orchid stem

If you leave a few inches of old stem and cut above the second notch, they can sprout out flowers again out of the old stem. Otherwise it'll prob be about 6months before it starts growing a whole new stem from the bottom, we find with ours I never used to like Phalaenopsis orchids much but you sure get value for money with the loooong flowering period, I'm quite fond of my husband's collection now!
