I can see the attraction of growing seedlings, you are the very first to see your creation or what nature has done for you. I am in a very privileged position that I get to grow one or two new varieties before going on general release. The trust the raiser has put in my hands, if good enough I would try to show it at the highest level in a National exhibit. I did this with Rossendale Lewis when I first won the Terry Clarke individual championship I used it as part of my exhibit. I do not think you can show at a high level and breed Dahlias to a high standard also. One tends to suffer. Breeding or showing what a great flower the Dahlia we have chosen to adopt. If I could not show I would have a go at breeding.

I want to know is that really Alice T surname hehe by the way do you grow and show Dahlias Alice T? Yes, the surname is legit. With regards dahlias I dont show !! but I hope to grow a good number in my new garden perhaps next year. I love their vibrant colours. I have recently moved into a new house with my girlfriend Jez. We have big plans for transforming the rather old dated look that is supposed to be a garden. Alice XX

Just finished digging up the last tubers. All I need to do now is wash, spray, dry and pack them . Not my favourite job of the year , still, it's got to be done. Welcome to the dahlia thread Alice, I'm sure once you get chatting, you'll want to show our wonderful flower. Good luck
