Had a good show day yesterday and ive got the bad head to prove it! Show was well supported this year, won the poms with mooreplace and was second with my trelyn kiwi and unplaced with charlie two which had been nipped by frost believe it or not! Was 16th with my leeks, for a small leek club with only 18 members the standard of leeks was very high apart from mine haha! Hope everyone has had a good showing weekend!

Tel there was a collarette there in the seedlings that looked like garden friends. Will post later. I could well be Mistaken but looked like it and it stood out very well. Was one of the nicest ones for my taste anyway. There was the new Clearview Edie which Dave Spencer thinks will take over from kenora challenger real stunner with a lilac tint. Also a fantastic med Dec i think not being released until 2016 superb colour and form a dusty pinkish purple with outline of yellow called Polventon Kristobal really is outstanding both Dave and Andrew competed with it . Will post later pics does not photograph well the colour very subtle one of my favorites as was avoca amanda.

Congratulations to those showing recently. Too busy to get to Wisley but here is a selection of what we take to market tonight and twice weekly through the season.

Very nice. Mine are being sold at the local shop. The owners come every morning about 6 o'clock, cut what they want, put them on the counter, and they sell well. Nice little arrangement as they'd only go to waste if left in the garden, and the locals love them. And the average £20 a week helps a bit Next year will do sweet peas for them. Bev Chislett has been providing some for them to sell, but he doesn't mind if I take some up too.

Some images and varieties from today's Kent show. Apologies if I make any mistakes with classification or names. Thoroughly enjoyed the day and was made to feel very welcome. Also I forgot to charge the iPad so pictures from my phone so not brilliant quality . Best single exhibit in show Andrew aspitall with jomanda He also won the silver medal with Clearview Edie Polventon kristobal Jomanda Gurtla twilight 2nd Dave Spencer Hillcrest candy Winholme Diane Polventon kristobal Marys Jomanda 3rd Darren Everest Hillcrest candy Mary's Jomanda Marston lilac Oakwood goldcrest Got so engrossed I may have mixed up the pictures and was scribbling the varieties down. Andrew Aspitall had a very strong showing with some fantastic blooms. More to come
