My Red Balloon has flowered and it isn't very good at all (in my opinion.) It is way too small of the miniature ring let alone the small which it is supposed to be. Let's hope that my seedlings are better. Looks more like a rubbish garden dec than a compact small ball.
Hay hoe.
Use your imagination, till I work out a way round this whole photo problem.

Had to explain that I wasn't mad. Again.
I had just turned on the tap of the hosepipe and then there was the rumble of thunder followed by pouring rain. And then there was me outside with my hose looking like I was watering my dahlias.
Wasn't 'onest guv'nor, I was trying hose jet the aphids off of my Downham Royal.
'onest.

Do you mean the advertising on the tinypic site? once you copy the pics url then no advertising comes with it, I've never used any other method Moonlight, always used Tinypic for hosting the forum pics (and some of the avatars ) do you still have your own web space? if so you could host them there but yes some of the onsite adverts at Tinypic can be near the knuckle

I've asked HH if he can set up some kind simple upload method straight to url, that I just don't need to think about but HH is in the middle of transferring our web hosting.

Get a guinea pig or even better, two guinea pigs. When we had guinea pigs they kept the grass short and most weeds were chomped too. They were free to run all over the garden and never had any trouble even with our cats. Oddly enough they never touched any of my show plants but did take a liking to the Schefflera in the porch when they got the chance. If concerned they can be kept in a moveable run which can then be placed as required. Apart from making lovely pets they are a good source of fertiliser in the garden

HH would probably be allergic to them but oh, I really do love Guinea Pigs. I love the noises that they make.

Fred 7 - Eastwood Moonlight seedling looks yellow with a hint of peachy at the end of the petals. It is like a nice yellow Eastwood Moonlight which is blushing. Looking forward to seeing more. Discovered a tiny caterpillar on it's top leaf. I managed to gently scrape him off with a erm. measuring ring and went over to another bush and tried to shake him onto another bush but then he pinged off. Lets hope he find a nice new home and doesn't march back home.

We have had 2 nights of massive thunder storms and it has been very hot by the day. Walking round my dahlias now seems to be a good time to tackle the manure spreading. dragging the bags is a challenge in itself. I've got one dodgy arm left and my right leg has had an insect bite on Wednesday and has had some sort of allergic reaction and gone purple. Which people have noticed so that is a bit embarrassing. I've been instructed by work place friends and family to go to the Doctors but I couldn't go Thursday and Friday because of my job but if it is still bad I will on Monday.
So there you go not having the ability to share photos isn't always a bad thing. So you get to miss out on seeing my leg which according the Pirate looks like I have been burnt. Imagine if you dare a regular school size sock. The area above the sock is normal, the rest in a neatly edged like a sock up my leg which is either purple or red. Dead attractive but at least it has stopped weeping down my leg...
Just to remind you this is a Diary of my garden not a horror story but dragging a sack of manure when you have a dodgy arm and leg that is not good is a bit of a challenge, mainly because I am scared of bumping it into my leg.
Then I want to pull the weeds up before I mulch but now is a good time for it, just wish that I didn't have another 10 sacks to drag.
Hay hoe.

Hay hoe. Maureen is so annoyed at missing these electrical storms as she loves to watch out the window for the lightning. A rather strange obsession as most women I know are a bit afraid of the lightning storms. They are rather impressive though but pale into insignificance with some of the storms I've seen in India.

We were promised a massive storm bigger than yesterdays, feel a bit cheated. I was hoping that we would get the down pour that went with it but it never came. I like the energy and the power of an electrical storm. HH does not like the feel of a pre-storm build up he finds it very stifling.
Some of the flashes of lightning turned the pitch black sky, a whiter brightness than daylight.
The energy - wow.

Yesterday I was weeding and mulching up dahlias but had to go in for dinner. Just as I was doing Moonlight. only joking a very nice dinner and HH cooked it, so I'm not moaning. Dinner or Horse Poo... exactly. All I mean is I had just got stuck in it but not literally.() After spending a lot of time faffing about. Well they don't call me Speedy for nothing, well actually nobody does more like 'Slowly' Me in the heat with a swollen fat leg can't possibly be described as anything else really.
Well it looks like it is going to be a hot sunny day which is good because Fairy is off out on a picnic today.
I've more weeding to do, so I guess I should crack on with that so that when it is wet enough I can put more mulch down.

This is Fred 7.
Fred 7 is an Eastwood Moonlight seedling.
I am very excited because Fred 7 is the 1st to develop a bud.
Fred 7 - Eastwood Moonlight seedling looks yellow with a hint of peachy at the end of the petals. It is like a nice yellow Eastwood Moonlight which is blushing. Looking forward to seeing more. Fred 7 has a pinkish hint to the petals. Very pretty colour... Looking forward to tomorrow already.
Lots of the other Freds have buds now. All very exciting. Dad says don't expect anything from your seedlings (so don't be disappointed) but the main one he has told me a couple of times recently is:
"If in doubt chuck it out because if you're not sure about a dahlia, neither well anyone else - so they won't want to grow it either..."
Gave Dad an update on the phone last night - rang to tell him about Audrey because mine is more advanced than his. Dad's question asked me if it was a double, don't think so but I know that if it was and was his, it'll be straight in the green bin...
On the international dahlia facebook page, lots of people share their new varieties, I must know what I like because I look at them and think... "There's an ugly one... that's an ugly one... don't like that one either..."
Dad is a dahlia snob, I think that I must be to but then for the life of me, I still don't 'get' Dad's interest in the Anemone dahlias but you never know maybe the 'Blue Bayou' tuber I bought my Dad will convert me... after all I like the colour......
Anyway I'm wittering.
