You've got some lovely delicate flowers peony , I'm sure I've got a dicentra Alba somewhere, must go & see if I can find it! Thank you Sue Hope you find it I found it peony ! Went looking for it but it's still in bud & being buried by euphorbia, geranium & hellebore leaves, I've taken a photo, you can just see it at the front. Some fritillaries are out dotted around. The chaenomeles is blooming nicely Red-tailed bumblebee diving into it head first! Pieris Forest Flame with the mahonia behind it Daffodils still coming out Wallflowers in bloom, no idea what these are but they come up every year Stella cherry blossom (it's in a pot!)

Very much a woodland garden SueA. Mine looks lush and overgrown at present too. Your Pieris looks lovely, which how I hope mine will look in a few years.

I like your photos SueA , especially the one of the bee on the Chaenomeles flower. I wish I had a Chaenomeles ... I'll have to get one this year.

Thanks Cherry , peony & @hywel, there is a lot of 'greenery' at the moment & I keep coming across flowers half buried under other plants!

Yes Dai ( daitheplant ) you do! They're both in large pots & have been for years, I daren't plant the Monkey Puzzle in the ground for fear of it shooting up into a monster! The acer is just starting to come into leaf now , it suffers in the wind though even though it's in a fairly sheltered spot by the front house wall.

Both are expensive plants Sue, so please make sure they are fed and watered properly and are not pot bound. Sorry for sounding so arrogant and patronising .

I think it could be something to do with the mild wet winter we've had. Things don't seem to have died back as much as they usually do.

Gosh SueA, your Chaenomeles is gorgeous and takes me right back to being a little kid, we had a big bush on the driveway by our house. I haven't thought about it in ages, I must remember to get one one day. Such lovely shaped flowers.

Clematis macropetala climbs a long way @hywel. Mine has reached right to the top of a tall Laburnum. I love it.

I've had it for many years but there's nowhere for it to really climb where it is now. I may move it. It's so beautiful.
