Yes, same here. Definite leaves on the others. Strange, isn't i - I wish they'd hurry up.

I can see some (very tiny) leaves coming on my 'Diablo' at last. Mine is only small, about 2'6", as I took it as a cutting from a friend's shrub about 3 years ago. I planted it into the garden 6 weeks ago and wondered if I'd been too hasty so I'm pleased it seems OK ;D

I didn't have time to look today - but I will tomorrow. That's hopeful, Peony.

I'm going to need ideas as to what else to plant in the big space where the hebe came out - the Deutzia is obviously small at the moment, and it looks lost in a vast space! Plants that'll take facing east? Any thoughts please?

Plants that'll take facing east? Any thoughts please? As the Deutzia is still small, and assuming that it will fill the space eventually, what about Morning Glory?

Plants that'll take facing east? Any thoughts please? I think Hydrangeas are hard to beat for this position because they don't just tolerate it, they prefer it. Just think of the colour you need. I have Hydrangea aspera villosa (three) facing north. This should flower just when you need it too.

Small comfort but we've all suffered losses this time. Too many to list but suffice to say I've lost an established Pyracantha and now 3 roses !!

Thanks, Cherry - I'll see if there's room. I also need perennials.
Does anyone think that those 'carpet' roses might be OK there, or do they need a full day's sun?
