Thanks all. and Moonlight the odd thing is that when we feed the fish the cats come up to get some as well. They seem to like fish food. The poorly one didn't make it so that is another hole in the ground to sort out. As for me I never fret over scans or treatments or anything really as truth to be told I have had too many brushes with the grim reaper to worry about him. Maybe I have a guardian angel

If you don`t have a guardian angel, Jim, you certainly have a lot of guardian gardeners.

small update. Not a great deal happening in the garden atm although there is always the routine stuff to get on with. Got my date for going in for radiotherapy so as I will be a guest of the NHS for about 6 weeks the garden will have to take pot luck with whoever muddles through even with my written instructions (idiot's guide) to help them. Pinching out fuchsias, taking flowers off potatoes and harvesting when ready, side shoots off tomatoes etc. etc. watering/feeding where required. I know it will be different when I get back 16th May I'm off.

Does that mean you'll be in hospital for 6 weeks sweetpea? I know for treatment here it's a daily trip to the hospital for 4/5 weeks for the treatment - here it's a 50 mile round trip. Hope all goes well - be thinking of you

Hope all goes well - be thinking of you I have to attend Singleton hospital which is in Swansea a 100 mile round trip for me. What happens is that I get put up in their 'hostel' for about 6 weeks all meals too just have to supply my tea and coffee. Not 100% sure but I think I can come home at weekends but will know more nearer the time. When I say 'meals' I have to stick to a special diet and drink millions of gallons of water Yeuk! Actually 2 - 3 litres daily. Could be worse, it might have been castor oil

just to change the subject, I found out my thorn RESISTANT gloves are not CACTUS resistant. A rather large cactus and its offshoots was trying to escape from its pot which being plastic was much deformed so it had to be potted on to a much larger one. 'Ouch!' was what I didn't say but the air turned a nice shade of blue Anyway got the job done and I'm not noted for being masochistic.
