Blimey sweetpea are they going to have a fire drill every day, don't they realise a hospital is full of people not feeling very well!? Hope your treatments are going well & don't run up & down the stairs too much, you're slim enough to start with.

back home fro the weekend. That fire drill turned out to be NOT a drill but the real deal. Apparently someone had triggered the alarm by having a smoke where they shouldn't I heard talk of a fine being imposed but nothing further. my lavender plants from T & M which I wasn't expecting until late June arrived today so off to pot them up in their temporary quarters.. there is a place in the hospital grounds where you can use computers so will try that as it will be easier than tapping out letters on the tablet.. More info next week.

I know radiotherapy is a real pain in the bum SP and you are being very brave about it.
When you were listing the potatoes you grew and liked, you missed out Kerr's Pink. This is an alltime favourite of mine. I also grew Pentland Javelin in Galloway. These were huge.

I'm English... meaning that I am a Welsh and Scottish taxpayer... I don't encourage politics on here, but I did laugh at that one roofgardener.

More info next week. How long do you have to stay in for.... you are lucky you aren't having the daily 100 mile round trip my friend had, to get to Velindre, for her five weeks of radiotherapy. That, in itself, is tiring enough without all the treatment as well.
Hope you are coping with your treatment ok?

dianthus, we get hospital transport (car) to pick us up from the door and take home again but they have this hostel where we can stay rather than do a daily round trip of over 100 miles. Our choice so a no brainer really. Your very own 5*hotel plus all that goes with it. Ok so not exactly the Hilton or Savoy but really great. I have 6 weeks treatment but home for weekends. Only problem I have is all the water I have to drink, starting to get hydrophobia? Quite close to Botanic Gardens so that is on my agenda next week all being well.

Is that something to do with the metallic taste the radio gives you? It could be worse.... you aren't having to drink a daily barium meal

Ok apart from all the nightly visits? Can see Somerset North Devon coast from my window and also good at night when clear

Can you see any boats' lights at night, progressing up the Channel? Take binocculas with you next week.
I went to the Botanic about five yrs ago, so it must be looking more impressive now. I hope you feel up to a visit there.

Yes, see the lights at night as I am up during the night a lot Might take binos next week. Not made it to botanic gardens yet as treatment times wouldn't permit. Got my bus pass ready though?

See, there are one or two compensations for your nocturnal travels. The other being your love of matters astronomical, too
