New roof, new windows and new back door plus the gable end wall & chimney stacks. Supposed to be completed bt end of Feb. but we shall see. This is courtesy of the Welsh Office which I think gets its funding from the EU?? Locally it is called the 'Regeneration scheme' and all we pay is a tiny fraction of the real costs so when the offer came we couldn't really refuse..............would you? So THATS where all my taxes are going !
Didn't know you were a Welsh taxpayer roofie

I'm English... meaning that I am a Welsh and Scottish taxpayer... You`ll get your own back Roofus, when we Welsh and Scottish taxpayers bail out the HS2 rail system.

I'm Scottish, lived in England for many years and now in Wales. Reckon I no longer fill in a tax return as no longer earning. Here in my part of wales closures are the order of the day, people on the dole or whatever they call it these days but as I paid my dues for over 50 years I reckon I'm entitled to some comeback.

That sounds a good deal SP, and I certainly would not refuse it. Good for you. Time we got something out of Government money.

That all sounds great sweetpea, we're just looking into external insulation for the house, it may be free or on the green deal scheme. Apparently this kind of insulation is really popular in places like Poland etc.

We got it free about 4 yrs ago under one of the Government schemes (its handy sometimes being an oldie )

OO thats good news Lou78W, we tend to get very little for free up here with the Scottish government, can't even get free solar panels.
