My sister Margy is in Florida with some her the family and they had a hire car. They went to the Epcot Centre...while they were all inside their car was struck by lightning. Apparently the staff had never seen this happen before and really looked after them all. They got everything they had in the car replaced plus extra to buy her grandson a new car seat. Someone was looking after them yesterday.. The car seat.. The car..or whats left of it.

Flipping heck Rosie, they were all very lucky indeed. Sweetpea, that is a fallacy. If you went out wearing wellies and got struck by lightening you would still be seriously injured, or even killed.

You nearly lost a branch off your family tree Rosie. That was horrible.

Faradays cage theory. Looks like the bodywork got so hot, it set fire to the car. Glad they are OK Could of been killed if they were stood there, minus car. I've had lightning strike 10ft in front of me, and could not find a mark anywhere. But the phones were fried

They were so lucky they weren't in the car, her wee grandson is only 17months old too. Last time they were in Florida they went through a hurricane and her son in law was rushed to hospital and found out he had kidney stones!!
