I looked up the BB and was surprised to see that they are still going. What were you doing at Renfrew Sweetpea? My first husband's granny had a beautiful red sandstone tenement flat with curved windows. I wonder if it is still in Wilson Street. Yes it is. I just looked it up. My father-in-law and husband both worked at Babcock & Wilcox.

Don't think I got a pair of long trousers until I was 13. All kids had grubby knees

The blood flowing used to keep my knees grime free.

All kids had grubby knees My knees were always bleeding Jim and I have the scars to prove it. The blood flowing used to keep my knees grime free. It was a fact of life for young boys. My main knee scar was when riding a ladies bike far too big for me and I slipped down on to the gravelly road while still bombing along and had to get the gravel taken out at the hospital. Plenty more scars since then. happy days.

I got my scars playing touch rugby and being goalie for a game of 3 and in, all in the same playground. At least I kept the school nurse in work.

The Borders words were quite different to those of Moray. I had to learn both. My son is going to a school reunion at St John's Town of Dalry on Friday, It was a very happy school. Of course, these are my memories too as the children were young then.

I've got a Scottish/English dictionary Cherry. I originally got it for maureen but occasionally dip into it myself. Gives the origins of many words too. Of course Glasgow dialect is different from the rest of Scotland.
