Sometimes you need one, Rosie, sometimes there isn't a real reason! Do you need a reason anyway? We never need a reason Geranium Only trouble is he gets an aching back cos I'm 4'11'' and he is 5'11''. Its a long way for him to bend over

Mam was 4' 10'' and dad was 5' 11'' . Dad was more of a cuddly person than mam ..... I don't ever remember having a cwtsh from my mam

I was just making an observation. The sound 'ch' is different in Welsh than in English ... and it IS a Welsh word after all. Different languages have different rules, but I suppose you can Anglicise words if you must - it's no big deal.
The added problem there Hywel, is that Monmouthshire was neither a part of Wales OR England until 1955/57. In fact, it wasn`t legally a part of Wales until 1972.

My parents weren't demonstrative, either. Sad, really. I get plenty of cwtches now, though, what with a husband, two children, three grandchildren and three gt. grandchildren! (that's when I see them...)
