I had my first lot of frogspawn yesterday morning ;D and I can hear them busy this morning

That is very early. I must have a look in my pond. I didn't notice any activity yesterday.

I thought so too, it was more a case of hearing them that made me look. I'm glad they've come as so many were lost over the cold period, I was a bit worried there wouldn't be many around this year

I thought so too, it was more a case of hearing them that made me look. I'm glad they've come as so many were lost over the cold period, I was a bit worried there wouldn't be many around this year I am worried that we won't have any this year because when the ice eventually thawed from our pond we had to fish out over 40 dead frogs. It was very upsetting. We had tried so hard to keep a hole in the ice but the temperatures were so low for such a prolonged period it obviously wasn't possible to save the frogs.

Last year the pond was full of frogs all busy doing their thing, this year there are just a few, but busy none the less.

Good photo Grindle There is still no sign of frogs or spawn in my pond. I hope re-lining it hasn't caused a problem.
