My aquilegias seem fine atm. What's with the busy lizzies grindle ? Busy Lizzies suffer from a virus sweetpea which the experts haven't been able to eradicate (according to the RHS). The main growers only sell the New Guinea Impatiens now which are not affected by the virus.

Not so keen on the new guinea hybrids as every time I have grown them they get the dreaded red spider mite. just been out to double check the columbines, all fine and growing well. Will also check the local nursery next time I am there to see if they have busy lizzies on sale.

All Aquilegias are pretty, whether you think they are common or not joysie21. Bees prefer the single variety of all flowers.

they do like to seed around joysie21 , but I've found if you deadhead them before the seed pods open, it does help in keeping the numbers down
