Unsure of this thread but sense a deeper meaning behind your trip, will be thinking of you. I do remember when my husband and I were going on our honeymoon. We were being searched, just the normal but as it wasn't too long after 9/11 all airports had upped the ante. So my son and husband were taken to one side and I was taken to the other, basically we were opposite each other, they were even checking the soles of our feet at that time, the problem is when asked to sit on the chair and lift my feet I noticed my son and husband were two double laughing at me, my feet were jet black from wearing no shoes at our evening do they've never let me live it down since. The security guards were all a bit on the miffed side but it did give us a right good laugh, still does.

KC sweetpea will be visiting his very ill sister in Sydney. He will no doubt read this and a few laughs along the way are welcome. The feet would not fit in with my OCD. I have realized that my son gets his OCD from me. However, I can see the funny side.

Safe journey sweetpea. I didn't know your sister was ill until I read Cherry's comment. I hope she'll be all right.

Surely they could see you were a member of the Blackfoot tribe.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. Made it ok and now surrounded by eucalyptus trees. Will do fuller report when I can as not so easy tapping out on a tablet. Currently staying at one of my brothers' house. I have 4 brothers and 2 sisters here so will be moving my suitcase a few times like McGill.(remember him?) bet the younger ones won't so someone explain please. Today went a national park saw plenty of bird life (feathered variety) and managed a good pic of a kookaburra, also lots of rosy cockatoos and sulphur crested cockatoos. The plant life is amazing. Lots of shrubs and other plants in flower. Lots of Strelitzias outdoors in full flower, bottlebrushes in different colours, etc etc. Couldn't use the tablet on plane as I forgot the USB cable then I found it when unpacking, duh! Saw my sister and she is pretty much resigned to her fate and not expected to reach her next birthday near end of June. Very emaciated but still quite talkative which is typical of my family. Anyway now time for bed. Ps weather slightly better than Wales atm.

Good to learn of your first impressions sweetpea. No black cockies then? I do miss the birdsong, or shrieking more like it. I moved between my daughters on Magnetic Island and Townsville, but last time, I stayed in Moira's Townsville house as the older daughter, Fiona, was moving and auctioning her house to a different area of Townsville. It is quite a good idea SP, as you won't be accused of favouritism. You seem to be coping with the tablet remarkably well. I don't think I would be as good. Keep us posted. Very interesting.

Visited another brother and he gets lots of different birds visit his garden. Some very tame indeed. A butcher bird sits on a frangipani tree by back door and calls to be fed. He then throws some minced which the bird catches in its beak and eats only 2 feet or so away. We found out today the bird has 4 chicks waiting to be fed. There are lorikeats ( think that is what they are called) Indian minahs Australian magpies and others I'm not sure of. Hopefully have some pics when I get back to show.

Moira and Jeremy laughed at me when I had one of those birds coming down to the verandah to pick up its treats. Then they had to tell me it was flattened on the driveway which made me feel bad because I had encouraged it.
My brother grafted two different colours of frangipani to make a pretty tree. I love frangipani, but Moira hates it.
Do your family live in the same area of Sydney?

Had a PM from sweetpea earlier. He sends everyone his regards and says that he is having a wonderful time. Apparently he has been feeding Kangaroos and Wallabies and cwtching a Koala. He has also taken several million photos.
