I will be planting my two apple cucumbers 'Crystal Lemon' in a large pot outside. Are they meant to trail or should I prop them up to sort of climb, like greenhouse cucumbers?

Thanks Tel. I will sort up the wigwam of hazel tomorrow morning. Every house in Victoria had apple cucumbers growing behind the shed and they were always left to scramble around the ground.

I've got Crystal cucumber growing in the greenhouse, I've been reading conflicting advice on whether to remove the male flowers or leave them on, any ideas?

If it is Crystal Apple Grindle? then as an outdoor variety there is no need to remove male flowers

thanks daitheplant I'm growing it in the greenhouse as I don't have room outside but will leave them on and see what happens, at the moment I seem to have more male flowers than female

I always peel cucumbers as it`s the skin which causes indigestion/flatulence. Grindle, ridge cucmbers tend to send out more male flowers first so as the female flowers will be pollinated.
