I'm always intrigued by the What have you done in the garden today? thread. In particular the range of scope/effort that different people put in. So I thought I'd write a fantasy version.... slightly (?!?) tongue in cheek. "Things they typically get up to in the garden each day" Roofgardener. Stared morosely at my seedlings, and planted a lavender seed. Listlessly moved a few pots around Retired in exhaustion. GrindleBought a new water feature for my garden. It is called "Windermere". It needs tidying up a bit, and all of the old boats throwing away ! KCLate for work this morning. Only had 10 minutes, so I built a couple of sheds, and then put hanging baskets up on the street corners. All of them. | Moonshine
Popped down to Tilsbury Docks to supervise the unloading of my latest Dahlia bulb consignment. |
DianthusDug up Exmoor and planted potatoes. DaitheplantIrrigated Nile Delta. Built Pyramids. Planted Kent.

That is hilarious; an absolute gem. However, I must let you know that this thread shames me into doing as much as I can, and I can refer to it for my few words in the parish magazine. I love this thread.

Lou78W I have not been included for possibly one of two reasons. 1. Roofy may be polite and not want to point out how weak and wobbly I am owing to my recent hip operation, or, 2. He is frightened of me because of my elevated position as a moderator. Then again, Roofy probably thinks I am too old and straightlaced. Why did you think you were not included Lou?

It IS ? Then where is Moonshine's ship ? Oh wait... found it .... ... and it looks like Moonshine is taking NO chances. The DFDS (Dahlia Federation Delivery Ship) "Seaways" , under escort by the Royal Navy Type-45 Air Defense Destroyer "Diamond". The Diamond's multiple-launch Sea Viper missile system ensures that no airborne pests or insects can approach within 60 miles of the precious tubers. Indeed, at ranges closer than 20 miles the SAMPSON multimode radar alone - when focussed down into 'tracking' mode - can literally fry red spiders, earwigs or thripps, leaving the Mk40 torpedo launcher to deal with caterpillars, snails and slugs.
