Marianne from work has suddenly revealed to us just how talented an artist she is though she downplays her talent. She did this fantastic painting of a wind swept, ice and snow coated style on the top of Cheviot (which does exist) from a photo another colleague Nic supplied to her. She just said she would like to paint it as she does a lot of walking too. She has since presented this painting to him for free! Amazingly talented lady.

A superb use of light and shade. A talented lady who should take it further.

Some wag on Facebook (Nic initially posted the pic of her painting on there) said "I like her style"... Thanks folks, I'll pass your comments on to her.

She's done the frost crystals really well, and the light and shadow use is spot on. I'm a painter type myself and painting frost/snow is something I would personally avoid cos it's hard lol!

I recieved an enormous painting last year from Marianne that she painted for me too before leaving to retire. I'd been showing her photo's of a recent trip to Nostell Priory near Wakefield and mentioned that I liked a particular photo of the lake. Anyway, she asked me to send it to her and she would give it a go!

This receiving a paintings as a gift seems to be becoming a habit. Two days ago, a lovely regular customer I'd been talking to about Oxlips (Primula elatior) of all things brought this painting in to work she had done of some for me. Beautifully captured too I think.
