I found this tiny little one yesterday when I was doing my wall. She/he was very small. Is she/he a newt or a lizard ? Does anyone know please ?
I tried loading another photo but it wouldn't work Don't know why ...

A wild guess tells me this should be a newt because of your damp climate. The experts will soon be here @hywel.

Me too @hywel , I think it looks like a female smooth newt, lucky you, I've never seen one in my garden.

Cute we used to find them in our utility room sink at the farm where I grew up in the Fens, sometimes. Is cool you had time to take a photo.

Hywel, there is an easy way to tell a newt from a lizard. If it can`t walk in a straight line, it`s a newt.

In my younger days I wasn`t known as Dai the newt for nothing.
