Lovely offer, Roofy. I've not pulled any crackers yet, this Christmas.
I've never had a two day birthday event before, so this is a first.... for my 61st
I'm in the middle of cooking a formerly frozen Dover Sole from Iceland ~ the store, not the country ~ with some of my garden peas and a precious few new Picasso potatoes from the garden, that I'd kept in some soil in the salad box.
Thank you everyone.... back after my munchies.

I now realise, with all the news reports, that, if I'd still been living in York, I'd have had to escape last night and there is a river flowing through my old garden .... the one with the old brick compost heap
Now very worried for my next door neighbour there, as she must be 90+

Do you have any way of finding out how she is?

It's probably too late dianthus, but I'd suggest Sage, Chives, Rosemary and Thyme to go with a dover sole. Mind you.. thats because they are the only 'erbs still growing in the Roofgarden at the moment. As for your 90+ female friend; relax: if the news reports are anything to go by, she will now be in the hands of either several Seriously Hunky British Army Infantrymen, or several even Hunkier Royal National Lifeboat Institue blokes at the moment, who will take her to a safe location. (at which point she may well rush back to her flooded house, and request rescue again )

Do you have any way of finding out how she is? The landline telephone exchange in York, has been damaged by the floodwater. The BBC local radio station can only get heard on digital platforms and the Council offices have no phones, so the evening updates have been sparse.
The water levels will keep rising, at least 'til tomorrow pm and more of the infrastructure is likely to fail before then.
As Roofy says, I can only hope she is safe with her daughter or in the local rescue centre.
