I very nearly did the same sort of thing last week Roofy, I took a short cut home through an estate round the corner & someone had left a little wooden shelf unit by the gate which I assume they must be getting rid of & if I hadn't had both hands full of shopping I would have had it. It would have been great for extra shelving in the greenhouse or shed but I think my O.H. would have killed me for bringing home more 'junk' to fill everywhere up!

Watch the owls don't build a nest in yours!

...I tried using lolly sticks as plant labels outside in the garden a few years ago but the trouble was we have so much rain that they just ended up going mouldy.

Mine too SueA. Plus, the writing faded between planting and flowering, so that I couldn't tell what I had planted !

(Hmmm..... white/silver-leafed plant... begins with C<squiggle>e<squiggle> ... hmm... Courgette perhaps ? )

Still, the sticks are very cheap (around £1.00 for 20 or 30), so they can be replaced each year if need be. The laminated signs themselves should be.. well.. they should last for years ?

We shall see

Extra sticky tape required!

I won a Brother labelling machine years ago (for an online veg. competition on a forum I was on - my Winston potatoes won a prize!) which was great, it printed out lovely labels which lasted in all weathers but the trouble was the tape for the machine was so expensive that I never used it again after the tape which came with it ran out!

SueA I have a brother machine, I looked on Amazon and got tape for it really cheap

Thanks daisy , I'll have a look & see if I've still got the machine somewhere - it may have been given away to the charity shop when we moved.

Roofy weren't we due another update on owl activity yesterday?

Easter Interlude

	At last... all the seeds sown... the owls are away somewhere .... a bit of piece and quite to enjoy my solitary Easter Egg...
	What the... it's vibrating and shaking and rattling... whats going on ?
	ZOMG... it's.... hatched ?? White Owl, what ARE you doing inside my easter egg ?
	ROFL... and you've brought some Easter Friends !
	The Owls - and their new friends - would like to wish A Happy Easter Monday to all the Garden Friends !
	OK Owls... and Chicks... I'm just going to fill the watering cans. For all your hard work, you can each have a SMALL piece of chocolate whillst I'm out. But don't go mad !
