A blog for Bronwyn ? A sort of.... Blogwyn ? Miss M did indeed come around today, and we had cake and tea in the Polytunnel. She helped me differentiate between Geranium seedlings and weeds, which was most helpful. I've now thrown the geraniums away, and re-potted the weeds. Just kidding Owliver was on his BEST behavior, dressed up in his best bow tie, and helped serve the tea and cakes. Miss M told me a VERY interesting fact. Apparanly Dahlias are related to potatoes ! Perhaps it would be best if we DIDN'T tell Moonlight about that ? Grim

I've read that before about dahlias, apparently they were first introduced into this part of the world as a possible substitute for potatoes rather than ornamentals. Here's a recipe idea for you roofgardener, don't tell Moonlight if you try it, although perhaps she could do that with her 'reject' tubers. James Wong, edible dahlias

The tubers are safe Moonlight, and soon to be planted out ! Miss M said that she was mistaken; they are not RELATED to potatos. However, the South American natives used to eat Dahlia tubers in the same way that they ate potato tubers... hence the confusion. Hmmm...... Dahlia chips ?

Bagsy the chocolate French Fancy Roofy, although the carrot (or maybe walnut?) cake looks very nice - did you make it? It was a walnut cake, SueA. I didn't make it myself.... I've never really gotten into baking for some reason ? However, I compensated for this by taking the main effort in EATING it. The owls never had a look-in, and had to settle for sharing a french Fancy.

Cooeee, it's suspiciously quiet in the roofnest. What are Owliver and Bronwyn up to?
Are they lost amongst all the onion foliage or the bedding plants?

aCtually... it could even be Tuesday. Thing is... I've been so busy DOING stuff, that I've not got around to photographing it. PLUS... the Owls are getting a bit strident... they want Equity Union rates of pay. It's creating a bit of a flap, to be honest
