Today would have been our Tel's birthday. As we know he sadly passed on a wee while back. Us mods thought happy birthday wasn't appropriate so we thought a memorial birthday would be good. Tel will always be a part of the forum, esp when Dahlias are mentioned, he was a friend and a mentor to us. My main memory of Tel is winding up Steve on lovely sunny days while he was at work and getting told fairly politely where to go

Thanks Mods for doing this xx My enduring memory of Tel is his encouragement and generosity when I first ventured into the world of Dahlias.......and....I'm sure most of us girls will remember "that photo".......

For me it's the way he encouraged Che and included him on a 1:1 level whenever he wrote to him.
Kind generous and humourous.
A mentor and friend
Missed dearly

A lovely gentleman, I wouldn't be growing dahlias now if Tel hadn't generously given me advice and encouragement. A much missed member of our forum.

I had logged on here to ask him which size of a pot I use for a particular plant, when I saw the thread at the top of the new posts list. I couldn't believe what I was reading. So sad.

I know I didn't know Tel for very long, but he certainly became a Garden Friend in that short time.
Good wishes to his wife and family on what must be a difficult time for them.

Even though he was English ( I forgive him for that ) he was a man after my own heart. We were brothers in gardening. And will be sadly missed.

Like all of you I miss Tel on the forum and learned a few tips off him , he loved taking seed and raised some good dahlias would loved to have met him at Harrogate , I think Lou put a good photo up of his winning exhibit at Harrogate he was an all round dahlia grower and made everyone very welcome when joining the forum .

It still does not feel quite real that Terry "tel" is no longer with us, but I am sure he is watching us all from his dahlia garden upstairs .
You are sadly missed tel and I hope I can do justice to the collerettes this year and all my other classes in memory of you. I will be taking some seed this year and have a dabble next year. If I ever get anything good in the future then I have one name sorted !
Thinking of you mate. .
Thank you mods for this thread .
