This does happen on forums from time to time. I believe it's the forum system that randomly checks on logins to make sure you are still the same person who registered. I've been on forums for many years and just occasionaly I have to log in again.
It could also be that your 'cookies' have been deleted.

If I do shut it down for any reason, I do have to log on again. I had to log on for an unknown reason yesterday, though!
