ROOFGARDEN TIPS. No. #33 - Avoid Impulse Purchases.
Planning and discipline are crucial features of Roofgarden Life. One must have a plan, and STICK to it, no matter what the temptation to make impulse purchases.
Many a neophyte Roofgardener has fallen by the wayside after being tempted by glossy magazine adverts into buying non-plan seeds or bulbs, only to have their careful RoofLayout rent asunder in a tsunami of unscheduled and unplanned impulse purchases !
Take this Thompson and Morgan catalog, for example. As I leaf through its pages, we see advert after tempting advert. But we must remain steadfast, and with wills of adamite. We must not.... ooooh..... 20 Begonia bulbs for just £9.99 ? clickityclickityPURCHASE .. ....
... umm.. sorry.. lost the train of thought there.
Where was I ?

Ditto, I think if I only had a roof garden my pots of impulse buys etc. would all be tumbling over the edge jostling for space!

Garden isn't really growing too much at the moment, weather too eugh but I have started to see a little sign of spring, more so at the front than at the back. Must try and get some pics uploaded, haven't tried it from iPad yet.

Sorry to hear you might have to leave the roof garden Roofy, is it to do with the landlord & his wife's disagreements? I think it's been a pretty good year for tomatoes although the heat's meant it's been difficult to get the watering right so well done on getting some nice ripe ones!

I grew these tomatoes VERY late in the season, and they missed the real hot sun. I discovered something that surprised me the other day. I always thought that tomatoes where a Mediterranean plant, and LOVED hot sunshine. However, it transpires that they are actually South American originally... from the foothills of the Andes, and they prefer a cooler climate, and actually DISLIKE hot sunshine !!!! Whoda Thunkit ?

Meh ... I'll find somewhere, if it comes to it. Even if it's a ground-floor garden, I'll still be a Roofgardener at heart
