looks good if it does all it says on the blurb. No personal experience of this one so I wonder if it would be any good for astronomy videos. if you go for it keep us informed how it performs for you.

As sweetpea says thecrackedpotgardener it looks fine, the only thing I would be wary of is it's not a well-known brand but as it looks like a Chinese brand they probably make for some of the big companies anyway. I've not used a video camera for years though, we had a similar little compact one years ago which I think had a little cassette in, shows how long ago that was! Video cameras & still cameras seem to be harder to get hold of now as everyone just seems to use smart phones to film everything.

My concern is that it is WAY too cheap. Also, customer service is in China. Many of the Amazon reviews look DEEPLY suspicious. E.g. written by the manufacturer. The camera has no optical zoom, only a digital one, which degrades quality. And the quality is rated as "average" at best. (and poor for still image capture, and in low light). This means that you will have to work much harder to get shot composition. The article mentioned "optional telephoto lens", but this doesn't seem to exist in reality ? Or at least, the manufacturers don't seem to sell one; perhaps it is a universal fitting ? (but then you would have to operate it manually, rather than with a button). On that basis, it seems unlikely it will have a 'macro' mode, so ultra-close-up work may not be possible. I can't tell if it has an external microphone input... I doubt it... so you are reliant on the quality - or otherwise - of the built-in microphone. It appears to come with a remote control .. which is good for tripod work. (Make sure you get a tripod as well ) For all its manifest weaknesses, it might just be perfect in a V-logging role ? And the price is RIDICULOUSLY low. Now, Amazon has an automatic "right of return" for items; up to 30 days I believe ? (though you may want to check that). So providing you have a list of "things to test/check" ready for its arrival, then you can put it through its paces, and evaluate the features that are most important for YOU, and still return it if you are unhappy. (I'd be PARTICULARLY keen to check the sound quality, as that is probably the most important element for Vlogging, and often overlooked ? ) On that basis... where is the down side ?

OoooKAY. Firstly, this would appear NOT to be running at 25 frames/second. I would suggest more like 8-10 ?? I think that is why all motion (including the "zoom") gives the jerky effect. (unless some sort of wierd compression was applied after the event... during uploading or something ?)
The sound outdoors wasn't too bad, but inside it was very muffled.
The intrinsic quality seems very dodgy... I really don't think this is reaching the advertised 1024p. Is it possible it is set to a lower resolution or something ?
If this was only going to be used for static tripod shots, subsequently edited together, and with a separate audio overdub, then I think it would be entirely suitable.
As a general purpose camera however ... even for Vlogging..... weeeell... I think you may be struggling a bit ? The sound quality is a particular issue ?

Took a look but i'm no expert so all I could comment on is that I hardly understood a word of what you were sayin. mind you I have the subtitles on the telly so no change there. At least you can see what you were doing which I suppose is what a video camera is all about.

You can get a dashcam for around £20.00 these days. Works just as well as a hand held and is also available for using in your vehicle AND as a security cam.
