last year I bought a little portable gas heater (used for camping) and finally got round to using it today, great little thing so much cleaner than parafin and quite cheap to use, I've only got it on minimum and it's warming the greenhouse up nicely. it will do nicely until I can run electric up there

Looks interesting, can you let us know the details grindle as I might get one. cheers I actually bought an oil filled radiator today from TOFS Only a small one cost £15.00 although I get a 10% discount as ex serviceman. our utility room in the house is like an ice box at this time of year so it is just for taking the edge off the cold. ps have just ordered one same as grindle. on ebay £6.49 incl p & P est Delivery tues so will let you know how it goes.

glad you found one sweetpea they certainly beat the black smuts on everything, I spent all morning in the greenhouse and it was just like summer in there I left mine running on minimum to see how long the gas lasted, will check this morning and see if its gone out Well I checked and it had gone out, so a canister doesn't go 24 hours, but that's ok as it's night temps that need to be kept up

yes roofie, that's on minimum setting mine worked out around a £1 a canister, I know parafin is a lot cheaper, but it's so dirty by the end of winter in the greenhouse. Hopefully I'll set up electric this year, if it ever stops raining

I will have to wire into a Blagdon powersafe that has the pond pump working from it half way up the garden, I have the cable and waterproof plugs to set up in the greenhouse, all I need is the good weather to get on with it. This would be enough as I don't intend using any heavy duty electrical things from it. Running from the mains would be a big job as it's 90ft from the house
