Freezing seeds can make them go into deep sleep. It is better to put clean, dry, fresh seeds in the salad compartment of a fridge rather than the freezer section. I put my Auricula seeds there over winter and the germinate well in Spring and again in the following Spring. I was referring to sweetpeas seeds not any other seeds which I don't know about. i was told many years ago by Keith Hammett the well known New Zealand grower and breeder of sweetpeas about his experiments with seeds in the domestic freezer and as I said have had seeds germinate well after 7 years. Only proviso being fresh to start with. Some info on Keith hammett here: link

Can anybody help with this enquiry please. I saw what I was told was an evening primrose last year. It started the day with peachy coloured flowers which, towards trattime/evening, turned into a luminescent yellow which looked lovely against a darkening sky. They were about 2ft. tall with brown/rusty coloured stems. Anyone know which variety they would be.
