yes that'swhat I do but always seem to catch a load of tadpoles which I have to get back in the pond.
Doesn't help the old back all that leaning over

I now have a duckweed covering on the pond. I suspect the heron that came visiting last year brought it in as I have not added anything to the pond for 2/3 yrs now.
Will have to start scooping! Glad I read this thread before buying any of the chemicals.
