I was wondering if you have the impatiens in a pot or in the ground Eli, I don't think it would be hardy here anyway, it looks very exotic!

SueA and grindle the Impatiens is not hardy. Some years I have put them outside in tubs etc but they always get eaten by things, so I didn't put them this year. They have been inside a Perspex shelter. In the winter they have to come indoors. I have lots of cuttings. The original one died. I was given it many years ago by a neighbour in a swap for some wood for her stove

Mine is dull in comparison Most of us have had our gardens for years Roofy (although only 5 years for me at this house) & have had time to develop them whereas you've only had yours for a short time & with it being rented you'll maybe not have the chance to change a lot. Give it time though & add some more pots of plants & flowers which you really like & it will look just as interesting as others - you've already attracted birds & butterflies which probably didn't visit it before you brightened it up.
