Picked first strawberry today but grand daughter who is 2 later this month ate it. Well at least it didn't go to waste. She seemed to like it so I suppose it tasted nice.

Maybe you`ll get the next few if the slugs don`t get there first. I had those ( supposably) gigantic strawberries growing for the past few years with poor results. I was going to dig them up and replant this year but luckily my laziness paid off and they produced quite a few fairly large ones this year . I do believe they heard me

Wow.. you are late sweetpea. My parents and sister have both been munching strawberries for weeks... their plants have finished for the year.

To be fair roofgardener sweetpea did post this about a month ago so he's probably eaten all his by now too! Our strawberries are over now as well & didn't get all that many this year but the plants are all about 4 or 5 years old so could do with replacing.
