I think many people will have to rethink Christmas this year, such a shame after looking forward to it for so long, but sometimes I think it is too overrated and too much emphasis is put on it, and then the disappointment is greater when something goes wrong.
Personally, even when I was little, I always found it artificial and boring, and it has never meant much to me, so the restrictions won't affect me. The thing that affects me this year is having to spend it without Beryl, but I have decided that on Christmas Day, instead of moping and feeling sorry for myself, I'm going to start sorting out my pottery making shed, in readiness for ordering clay in the spring. I don't want to spend it with family, I won't be in any mood for being 'cheered up' and sorting out the shed will help me get through it. In other words I've cancelled it all together, and that doesn't bother me at all.
I don't think much of these people who moan about not seeing their family for Christmas. They are lucky they have a family, many people have no-one and would be on their own anyway, virus or no virus. They should be grateful they have a family and they can look forward to seeing them next year. I feel very lucky to have the family and friends I do, and even though I won't see them over Christmas I will speak to them on the phone, and will be grateful I can do that.
Try to make the best you can of it for this year everyone and have a lovely relaxing time x
I don't remember if I showed you all this snowman I drew. I was going to put it on Christmas cards but my printer has decided it doesn't want to work any more so I'll have to get a new one soon. People have had to receive bought ones this year, and maybe I can make my own next year - something else to look forward to

Keep looking forward Eli, and we will look forward to seeing your pottery. The snowman card is pretty and Christmasy. Travel restrictions have been a blessing for my son and his partner. They were not looking forward to the visit to Kent this year. My Christmas dinner will be at their house because I was not able to travel to my other son in Scotland. Well, I am going off to the shops now, to buy the chicken and chipolatas in bacon and will make the stuffing when I come home. I use the recipe which I put on the recipe page years ago. Not long now, and I hope everyone has a lovely Christmas.
