I actually got an email asking me to report any side effects Cherry after my vaccination on the 'Yellow Card' site so am going to do that, O.H. didn't get any email asking him to do that after his (Pfizer) but all he had was a sore arm for a few days. There have been quite a few people who went to the same centre as me & had the Astra Zeneca this week who have posted on local Facebook pages that they've had side effects, chills, fevers, tiredness etc. but I seem to be the only one who had the sickness as well - someone said it must be because I have a good immune system, I just think it's because I can't take medicines of any kind - I usually have reactions to antibiotics & the only things I ever take are paracetamol or ibuprofen, my body doesn't like anything out of the ordinary flowing round it, can't drink much alcohol either & any slightly dodgy food etc. immediately comes back out!

I did a bit of reading on the side effects & apparently according to research by King's College London on 700,000 people who had the vaccinations you're twice as likely to report side effects after the AstraZeneca vaccine than the Pfizer one, they are different & work in different ways with the AstraZeneca delivering a 'harmless cold virus' containing genetic material from the spike protein on the Covid virus which enters cells in your body which then produce the spike protein triggering your body to produce antibodies to destroy this & consequently any Covid virus if you get it whereas the Pfizer one uses a messenger RNA to get your body to react to the genetic code of the virus. Everyone I knew who'd had the Pfizer had said they had to wait 15 minutes after the injection before leaving whereas I was in & out in about 5-10 minutes altogether, O.H. was waiting outside as he'd dropped me off in the car & he said he'd go for a walk around the park while I was in there, when I came out I spotted him & shouted across the field, he asked me what was wrong & didn't think I'd had it! There was no queue, only one man in front of me, I answered the questions, guy put his hand up & the young girl who had been hovering nearby was immediately there, asked me name, date of birth, allergies, which arm etc. & was so quick I didn't think she had time to push the plunger. I was asked if I was driving & said no so was told I could go straight away, there were about 10 or so people sitting on chairs staring at a clock who obviously did come in their cars. No pain at all, no sore arm at all, it was only 5 or 6 hours later that I got the side effects.

as long as it works that is the main thing. Wish I had a pound for every jab I've had over the last 80 years.

Well, I had mine on Saturday. It was the most painless injection I've ever had. I actually had to ask her "have you finished yet" ?
No side effects !!!

Oddly enough I had a tender area in my arm from the second jab. Ok now and it was nothing to be concerned about but strange after the first one being hardly noticeable. Had worse playing tiddleywinks.

I am booked for my second Pfizer on Friday. Again, I will go to son’s house to stay over, and again, expect him to give me a really lovely wine to help me to get over it! The vaccination centre is not too far from my son’s house and I don’t have a car.

sweetpea I don’t like cherries. When I joined Garden Friends, I didn’t know the difference between a password and an avatar or whatever it is called and got them mixed up. I really wanted ‘Heather’, which is my favourite flower.
