Where has Rosie gone ? its over a year since she posted. There seems to be less and less people using the forum also, anybody know why there was 541 users on Feb 5th 2016 I often wonder about that.

I agree ladybird, there is nowhere near the community there once was.

It is sad but to be honest when this forum was started many years ago people were posting questions about certain plants or plant care and would get many answers back which is what the intentions were in starting this, Truth is now the internet and also such as Google have advanced that much that you only have to put the plant name in to a search and you get back many pages all about the care and types etc than you would ever get from a forum, where this still differs is for people who are alone or maybe recently lost someone and they benefit from someone to chat to, even if only a good morning or about the weather and while that reason is there then I think it is still worth carrying on with Garden Friends, let me know what you think about this too,
Regarding a large number of visitors, the forum is advertised and accessible in the US (where the owners of these forums are located) many people can visit and have a look without registering and it records every click on the forums on every day so on that particular day there was a large number taking a look
Rosie still looks in now and again, a fair number of people have joined Facebook gardening groups and that side is growing more now than this older type of forum and could well be the way gardening groups are going, So when we get down to zero visitors I will probably shut the curtains 😊

Right Steve, we need ideas on how to bring this site back to what it was. How about we have a "grow to give" forum? This would entice people who are prepared to grow and give fresh fruit and veg` for the infirm and elderly.
