I thought you'd like those Eli! It is a very friendly 'local' show grindle, not as big & 'flash' as something like Chelsea but we haven't been for years as like most shows it's got to be more about the shopping than the plants & gardens & is always crowded. It was better this year though as they'd limited the numbers due to covid & it was more spaced out than usual. There's not as much money around for shows these days though & they lost things like the council bedding display competition a few years back as councils couldn't afford it & I think it's harder to get sponsors & get local nurseries to spend money on taking part, still a lovely day out though.

Just had another look at the cacti, there's one like a big fern shape and it's a cristate form of one of mine ... fascinating

I loved Tatton Park on television. It looked a more manageable size than the big ones, yet there was a lot to take in. Your photos showed us even more. I notice that white flowers seem to be the fashion colour coming in.

There seemed to be lots of soft colours at the Tatton show Cherry, whites, blues, yellows & pinks & natural style planting which I loved. It is a smaller more friendly show with lots of local influence & not many big show gardens or big name designers but lots of interest.

This sounds like The Sandringham Show but it would be even better because it is national. I also went to the first show at Blenheim when I lived near Oxford which was quite small. . I really am getting old.
