I love that white Camellia grindle, I saw one in a garden near here yesterday & they have such lovely simple pure flowers! I think the Camellia I have in a pot in the front garden might be on it's last legs as the leaves are very yellow & sickly probably a combination of the heatwave & then the very cold spell.

thanks SueA this original plant was labeled up as Brushfields yellow which it obviously isn't, but I think I prefer this one, it looks like Alba simplex

My 'Flamingo Lily' (Anthurium) is throwing up the first new spathe of this year! My son gave it to me last year - I don't remember when - & it even produced 1 or 2 more after I got it. But this is the first time it's flowering for me. It probably needs a few more weeks before the spathe reaches its full width.

The Amaryllis my son gave me for Christmas has finally opened its first flower today! The flowers on this Amaryllis are a very dark velvety red, almost black in fact!
The pictures I took today of the Amaryllis with the first of its flowers opening in the kitchen this morning.

The last two are practically the same because the very last one I used the flash to see if I could get a better picture & that's the reason they look identical except for the light. I have to close the blinds or everything comes out almost black with the contrast between the windows & the plants.
