I have a few pictures of plants I would like to know the id of & as ladybird has started this thread it reminded me of some plants our local council have put in troughs & planters here. I took photos of them with the idea of asking for id on here but I always forgot. So I shall now put a few pictures on here & I'd like to see if anybody recognises them:
Here are six photos of the same flower. At first I thought they were some bulbs but after a few weeks I saw they were actually plants & not bulbs.
These next two were growing like weeds & have nothing to do with the council gardeners plantings:

I'm not sure if these are a kind of Salvia or Lobelia, anyone know?
This last one seems to be more of a foliage plant than one being grown for its flowers - which I haven't seen as yet!
This tub has more of the flowers I can't id that I posted above. I like them very much & if I can id them I'd like to get some seeds to grow for the balcony next year.

Thanks very much grindle for the ids! The Herb Robert I suspected I already knew but you have confirmed it for me. 👌 The Cosmos I knew as such but not the specific variety.

You are right grindle about the Gaura as well! Thanks for the id and I've been reading up about it. As there are many plants around town I shall look to see if there are any with seeds I can collect but if I don't find any I'll see if I can buy some.

Yes, Gaura and Herb Robert. I can never grow Gaura, and Herb Robert is a native wild flower (or weed in the garden) The 'foliage plant' is Plectranthus ciliatus. It has delicate pale mauve flowers in the autumn. I treat mine as a house plant.

I took a few cuttings of 'Indian Borage' (Plectranthus ciliatus) on Saturday, do you think they will root from cuttings? I've been looking up this plant but can't find propagation instructions! I can get plants, (some are real beauties as well!), but I can't find anything related to their propagation.

I thought the English name for P. ciliatus was Sweedish Ivy, but I always use the botanical names. Anyway cutting are easy, just plant them in potting compost or root them in a jar of water.
