Those chicks are very young, just think how many 'nasties' will be caught and feed to those chicks before they fledge. A handy nest to have on the allotment.

Ahhh Tel, thats lovely ;D I always worry about blackbird fledglings as they spend about 2 days on the ground once they are out of the nest, anything could get them.

The nest was empty this morning, looks like one of the cats that are always on the allotments has taken them. Its a shame but it was 90% certain they would not live.

That is a real shame. There is still plenty of time for another brood It is a good job birds don't have our emotions.
