Anyone any idea what disease, this blackberry has, the stems have gone black in places.

Yes it does, my acer went to look the same and is now definitely a goner. Someone thought it could be verticillium wilt, I hope not. Has it only happeded recently?

Steve, thanks for the offer, what ever was wrong or is with the plant, it looks well at the moment and is fruiting up.

I also thought as the plants looks in general good health that it could just be ageing of the stems?
