There are dozens of starlings nests around the eaves of our house. As I sit here every few seconds I can hear the nestlings chirping as food is being brought into them. It is going to get very noisy here in the next few weeks as they get bigger, they get louder and more active, particularly in the early hours of the morning.

Well, they have all fledged this week and all the racket is now outside in the garden and I am nopt now getting woken up in the early hours.! There are several family groups with the fledglings following their parents around begging for food and practicing their flying skills - often dive-bombing clumsiy into bushes and borders! It is very comical watching them splashing around in the pond.
