I am on both Twitter and Facebook.Like any other sites, they are good if you use them for what YOU want to get from them, and don't let them dominate your life. You don't have to have friends you don't know/like and unless you do something stupid there are no privacy problems.
I can't get into the chatroom here - it tells me to download Javasomething and then won't let me download it :/
