Spreadsheets are like most things, great if you have a need for it but totally superfluous to everyday life.
i think a database is more useful to the ordinary pc user. I know you can use excel for that too after a fashion but a dedicated database is so very useful for so many things.

I'll get around to it eventually

My story is very similar to yours Grindle, only my son went permanently to Aberdeen. People on the forum have taught me everything I know.
